UPDATE February 2004

The final map of the seabed containing the anomaly first located by HMS Roebuck, has now been completed.

After an investigation lasting more than five years the team are now ready to explore the precise area of the anomaly. This is shown on this image that has been extracted from the Royal Navy side scan survey.

Diving will recommence in the spring.

The target, which is completely, buried lies on very fluid, soft and muddy seabed that is almost flat.
After image processing, a further image has been produced to reveal what appears to be a bow and stern.
The distance between these is approximately 20.0 metres.
Is it the remains of a structure buried beneath the seabed?
We'll just have to wait and see.
